Notice of Registry Maintenance – CIRA

On Wednesday, March 12th 2025, the Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) is performing system maintenance to further improve the .CA registry system.

In order to successfully complete the maintenance there will be a 6 hour maintenance window from Wednesday, March 12th 2025, between 17:00 (5:00 PM) PT and 23:00 (11:00 PM) PT. During this time, certain Registrant transactions will be intermittently impacted. This maintenance only pertains to .CA domains. No other domain extensions are affected.

Please note that all .CA domain names will continue to function normally throughout the maintenance period. The maintenance being performed only affects the ability to perform updates to information or functionality of .CA domains. The following transactions will be impacted during the service maintenance:

  • You will not be able to submit new .CA domain registrations.
  • You will not be able to approve the CIRA Registrant Agreement.
  • You will not be able to update or renew existing .CA domain names.
  • The To Be Released list will not be accessible.
  • WHOIS will not be accessible.

Notice of Domain Registry Maintenance

On Tuesday January 14th, 2025 Webnames is performing system maintenance which will affect the availability of management functions for a number of different domain extensions.

In order to successfully complete the maintenance there will be a 14 hour maintenance window from 9:00 PM PT on January 14th to 11:00 AM PT on January 15th . During this time, certain change-related transactions will be be unsuccessful, including new registrations, renewals, transfers, contact updates and nameserver updates. It is requested that users refrain from performing these types of transactions on any affected domain name during the maintenance window.

Please note that regular operations of of associated domain names from the list below will not be impacted by this maintenance. For further removal of doubt, associated domain names will continue to function normally throughout the maintenance period.

Mail Services Restored

1:40 PM PT: Mail services have been fully restored and the small backlog of email is now being delivered to users.

1:25 PM PT: We are currently investigating an issue regarding mail services.

We are not expecting any loss of mail – mail will be delivered to customers upon restoration of services.

In the meantime, we advise customers to not make any changes to their email clients.

Notice of DNS Maintenance

Webnames will be performing maintenance on our primary DNS infrastructure beginning at 4:00 PM PT on Thursday, May 2nd 2024.

Maintenance is expected to take 5 minutes, during which time any DNS updates will result in an error.

DNS resolution will be unaffected throughout the maintenance.

In order to successfully complete the maintenance there will be a 4 hour maintenance window from 5PM PT on March 9th to 545pm PT on March 9th . During this time, certain Registrant transactions will be intermittently impacted. This maintenance only pertains to .COM and .NET domains. No other domain extensions are affected.

Please note that all .COM and .NET domain names will continue to function normally throughout the maintenance period. The maintenance being performed only affects the ability to perform updates to information or functionality of .COM and .NET domains.
